Creating Document Types
"Proposal" Document type example
1. Open OneNode
Start by accessing the main OneNode panel
2. Click on "Settings"
And click on "Settings"
3. Add a new document type
Then select the "Document Types" tab, Click on "Add new type", and choose "Custom"
4. Type the label "Proposal"
Right here enter the document type name
5. Allow for Organizations
And next switch on for Organizations to allow users to add proposal documents to organizations records
6. Allow for Persons
to person records,
7. Allow for Deals
and Deals. You may choose to set document types to be added to only one, two, or all three of these Pipedrive objects.
8. Set visibility
Then set Visibility. Perhaps your organization wants Proposal documents to be visible to sales people only. You can create user groups for this.
9. Assign visibility to user groups
We will allow visibility to "All users" in this example.
10. Click "Add new Field"
As the last step, you may add a couple of fields for Proposal Document types
11. Select "Contract type"
Previously, a "Contract Type" field was created to categorize contracts. Let’s make use of this same field to categorize proposals similarly.
12. Set a Default
and set a field default with your most common type of Proposals, in this example we have three options: License, Professional, or Support
13. Create a Field type
Next, create a second field. Select "Description," a long-text field that was also previously created.
14. Set the default
Set a default text in the Description field and Save the changes.
15. Review the fields created
That's it! The Proposal Document type with both fields has been successfully created. While we used pre-existing fields, it's also possible to create custom fields specifically for Proposal documents.
16. Mark as required
Before you finish, mark one or both of the fields as required
17. Set required fields
and ensure that users fill them every time they add a proposal.
18. Review your work!
Alright! Let’s review what we’ve just built. From the Organization, Deal, or Person view, users can add Proposal documents through the OneNode panel. In this example, the user is uploading a PDF Proposal. Once the document type is selected, they’ll be able to fill in the two fields we created.
And just like that, we've created a "Proposal" document type using two pre-existing field types. Try creating additional document types to help your organization stay organized! Check out more OneNode guides to learn even more.
